When you’re getting started with blogging, sometimes it can be difficult to come up with enough original topics to write about. This can be a form of writers block that prevents you from even deciding on a topic. However, if you know the right places to look, you will discover that the topics you can write about really are unlimited.

The first thing you should do is start a list. Any list ideas you come up with, should be recorded somewhere for later reference. You should even keep a paper and pencil next to your bed because
sometimes the best ideas happen late at night or when you first wake up. You may think that you will be able to remember your great idea, but usually it doesn’t work that way – write it down.

You should also keep your list visible as a constant reminder that you’re looking for possible topics. Once you get into a habit of keeping track of your ideas, your list will eventually become large enough so you have multiple topics to pick from.

Visiting several blog websites that are related to your topic is another way to come up with good ideas for your blog. An easy way to do this is to subscribe to an RSS feed or set your home page to show the latest headlines from these sites. Once a week, scan the headlines and look for ideas to add to your list. Sometimes it will be helpful to also keep track of the url for the article you saw to use as a reference when you start writing your blog post.

Looking at forums and communities related to your niche is another way of finding ideas. Find out what everyone else is talking about. Better yet, find out what they are asking questions about, then you can answer those questions in a blog post.

You can also outsource most of the work by having other people write the articles for you. But this can be expensive if you don’t have a big budget (and most beginner marketers don’t). Of course writing articles yourself and paying other people to write them for you are not the only options available to you.

An excellent way to add high-quality content is to find guest writers who are willing to submit good articles to your blog in exchange for a link to their websites. Not only will this make your job easier when it comes to producing fresh and interesting content for your readers, but it can also add to the overall quality and credibility of the blog by having multiple expert authors contributing their own insights and opinions.

Finding these guest writers can be as easy as contacting other bloggers who are already established in your niche and telling them that you will begin accepting their high-quality content in exchange for links. If you have a good readership with lots of people subscribing to your RSS feeds or e-mail lists and participating in blog comments, then you can simply make an announcement on your blog and tell people that you will be accepting quality articles. If you don’t know where to begin, start by looking at the blogs that show up in Google and in blog directories and begin contacting them one by one.

You can get started with any of the methods above, however, I suggest that you experiment with them one at a time to experience the full benefit of each one.
